2022 Update/Recap
I would like to give you an update on how God has used your suppost of GCC to accomplish the Lord’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) to make Jesus Christ known to all people in the world through our ministry partner Set in Motion (https://www.setinmotionministry.com). Prfits from GCC coffee sales along with donor support in 2022 has made it possible for Set in Motion to meet the physical and spiritual needs of impoverished communities in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in ways that our advancing the Gospel.
Iglesia Bethel serves 215 families living in the eight communities that make up El Coyol. Eiteen months ago, there was no local church for the community to attend. GCC covers the church’s yearly operating budget and pays Pastor Guitierrez’ salary.
Last fall, Iglesia Bethel hired its first pastor, Douglas Gutierrez. Pastor Gutierrez is a seasoned preacher with a passion to reach the lost with the gospel. Pastor Gutierrez and Iglesia Bethel are already having an impact on the community as people are coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Our partner church Comunidad Cristiana de Restauracion is building a Retreat Center on a tract of land in the rural villa, Villa Altagracia, just outside of the capital, Santo Domingo, to provide a Christian camp experience for urban youth. Through donor support and GCC coffee sales, Set in Motion has raised $40,500 to fund the building of a pavilion, bathrooms, and a dining room.
Santa Rosa is a very poor community outside the capital, home to both Dominicans and Haitians. Here, most families lack food to eat, school supplies, and uniforms for their children to attend school. Currently, our mission in Santa Rosa focuses on basic provisions and evangelism.
